Dr. Lydia Wade was born and raised in Helena, AL where she was blessed to have a great community and parents to nurture her love and care for animals at a young age. She graduated with a B.S in biology and minor in chemistry at UAB. Later she went on to get her Masters in Industrial Hygiene/Public Health at UAB. She graduated from Auburn with the College of Veterinary School' s Class of 2014 . She is a member of the Jefferson County Veterinary Medical Association, and American Veterinary Medical Association. She has two dogs: Charlie and Alf , both are a handful and fun to play with when she gets home from work. Dr. Wade also has three cats : Leonidas, Horus , and Perseus. Leonidas is a Maine Coon weighing in at 22 pounds! (He looks angry, but is a BIG BABY) Horus is the mischievous one of the group he was adopted from Warrior, AL after being caught running in and out of the Piggly Wiggly - stealing food! Clever street cat. And Perseus is afraid of his own shadow, but loves the company of Leonidas and Horus. Dr. Wade loves to travel and see the world. She also enjoys the choir of frogs behind her house at night along with watching the fireflies twinkle in the forest behind her house.
