Rachel Nelson, DVM

Education: Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine

Hometown: Ashville, Alabama

Pets: I have two mules, two donkeys, four cats and twelve dogs.

I’m an active member of my church, Eden Westside Baptist Church. I teach a course there called Life Discovery to 3rd graders. I also facilitate Divorce Care Ministries. I’m currently pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies at Eden Westside School of Biblical Studies. I’ve participated in evangelical missions aboard, including India, Brazil, Ukraine, Peru and Costa Rica.

Working extensively with animal rescues is very important to me. I am the founder of my own personal rescue, Rottie&Notties Rescue. I have assisted in several rescues by providing medical care for the animals. In my early career I worked at Snead State University as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. From there I went to work at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine as a L.V.T. In June of 1996 I graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. I’m an avid fan of Auburn football! A majority of my wardrobe is orange and blue.
