Amanda Oden, DVM

Dr. Oden grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. After receiving a BA from Wellesley College in Massachusetts, she studied veterinary medicine and surgery to earn her DVM degree from Tufts University. For 15 years, she owned and operated Hearthside Veterinary House Calls in Andover, Massachusetts. After selling her practice and working in more places with long, cold winters, she tossed out her snow shovel and came home. She is very happy to be back near family in Alabama.

Dr. Oden particularly loves handling challenging, fractious cats. In addition to focusing on canine and feline preventive care, her strengths include sorting out and diagnosing complex internal medicine conditions, cancer diagnosis and treatment, and performing dentistries.

Dr. Oden enjoys playing the piano and going to the theatre. She has a Pomeranian Rat Terrier cross named Buddy and 3 cats. Her daughter,
