Destinee Bearden, DVM

Dr. Destinee Bearden is a 2008 Auburn University graduate. She grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Vincent where she spent summers working and showing dairy cattle.  Dr. Bearden decided while working as a kennel assistant in high school that she wanted to become a veterinarian and decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.  She attended Auburn University for undergraduate studies and obtained degrees in Agricultural Business and Economics and Animal Sciences before attending veterinary school. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Bearden completed a 1-year internship in Food Animal Medicine and Surgery at Oklahoma State University working primarily with rodeo stock and beef cattle operations.

After her internship, she moved to Georgia where she practiced for 7 years in mixed animal, small animal and emergency clinics before moving home to the family farm.  The last 7 years have been spent practicing primarily small animal medicine and surgery with a sprinkling of cattle and goat work.

Her primary veterinary interests are internal medicine, emergency medicine and surgery. She and her husband Tracey have 2 rambunctious boys, Mason and Sawyer, and live on the family farm. Hallie Beth the Lab, Smudge the cat and the small herd of dairy heifers complete their family. When not working, Dr. Bearden and her family enjoy camping, cheering on her son’s travel soccer team (Go Raptors!), following Auburn sports and showing the dairy heifers at local and state fairs.
